The All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, Imo State House of Assembly candidate for Ideato North State Constituency, Dr. Ugboaja Victor Chinedu, also known as Akataobi Ideato, has reached out to a physically challenged indigene of the LGA.
The beneficiary, Mr. Arinze Umunnakwe who hails from Amanato, in Ozuakoli-Urualla autonomous community, got a wheelchair from Dr. Ugboaja to facilitate his movement.
Speaking while presenting the device to the lucky Arinze, midweek, at the residence of the Umunnakwes, the State House of Assembly hopeful, disclosed that he encountered the crippled young man a fortnight ago at Ntueke junction on his way to Arondizuogu.
According to Akataobi Ideato, “I saw him crawling along the road and decided to stop to know if I could be of any assistance to him, no matter how little. And true to my expectation, he told me he needed a wheelchair, and here we are today. I want to thank our big brother, Comrade Ifeanyi Okponwa Eze who gave me further information about our physically challenged brother and the urgency the fulfillment of my promise to him deserved”.
Apart from the gift of the wheelchair, Dr. Ugboaja pledged to bankroll the training of Mr. Arinze in any trade of his choice, as well as provide a starter package.
Apparently intoxicated with joy and excitement, the father of Arinze, Elder Samuel Umunnakwe who was effusive with praises for Akataobi Ideato, said: “I am dumbfounded; I’ve never seen it like this before, my son, God will continue to bless you. Since your interest is to better the lot of the common man, God will make you another Peter Obi of Nigeria”.
