Press Statement.
ALARM: Don’t Dare to Rig Imo East Senatorial Election – Onyeagocha warns Governor Uzodimma and Imo REC.
The PDP Candidate for Imo East Senatorial District, Hon. Barr. Uche Onyeagocha wishes to draw the attention of the general public of a deliberate plot by Governor Hope Uzodimma and Imo state Resident Electoral Commissioner, Sylvia Agu to manipulate the results of Imo East Senatorial Election in favour of their preferred Candidate.
Hon. Onyeagocha is very much aware of Governor Uzodimma’s latest scheming to generate and concoct a fictitious result of over 35,000 votes from Ngor Okpala LGA for APC Senatorial Candidate Alex Mbata who came a distant third.
They have also concluded plans to raise a frivolous petition alleging irregularities and to urge Imo state Resident Electoral Commissioner to cancel some of the local governments where Onyeagocha pulled the highest number of votes.
We are surprised and highly bewildered that the state Resident Electoral Commissioner, a woman for that matter, who supposed to be an umpire in the Election is in a connivance pact with Governor Uzodimma to manipulate the results of Imo East Senatorial Election. We are indeed aware of all these plans by Governor Uzodimma and Prof. Sylvia Agu to manipulate and upturn Onyeagocha’s victory in favour of their preferred Candidate.
May we state here without any equivocation that any attempt by Governor Uzodimma and Imo Resident Electoral Commissioner to manipulate Onyeagocha’s victory will not be tolerated or accepted . We have all the booth Results and can authoritatively confirm that Onyeagocha has won the Senatorial Election. Any attempt to scuttle or upturn his victory will not be condoned.
Signed:
Prince MacDonald Enwere
