Flag-Off of Roads Grading in Ideato North Local Government Area
The Chairman of Ideato North Local Government Area, Hon. Arc. Chukwunonso Okpareke, has officially launched the grading of roads across the local government. The initiative, which kicked off at Ndi Akunwanta Uno in Ndi Iheme Ward, signals a determined push toward improving road infrastructure and boosting accessibility within the region.
During the ceremony, Hon. Okpareke assured residents that the project would reach all 14 wards in Ideato North, underscoring the administration’s commitment to equitable development. To speed up the process, he announced that an additional grader would be deployed to other wards the following day.
Hon. Okpareke expressed deep gratitude to the Governor of Imo State, Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma, for his steadfast support of grassroots development. He applauded the Governor’s 3R framework—Rehabilitation, Reconstruction, and Recovery—as a transformative approach to addressing the needs of rural communities.
In attendance were several key stakeholders, including Hon. Kanu Kenechukwu Chimaobi, the councilor representing Iheme Ward and Chairman of the House Committee on Information, Hon. Julian Offor, councilor for Izuogu Ward 2 and Chairman of the House Committee on Works, as well as Mr. Njoku, the HOD for Works, and Mr. Ikechukwu Owete, Secretary to the Local Government Chairman. They praised the road grading initiative as a vital step in driving infrastructural development and pledged their commitment to its success.
This landmark project is a significant stride toward fostering growth, improving transportation, and enhancing the quality of life for the residents of Ideato North.
