IMO PDP CHAIRMAN, UGWU COMMENDS THE INCLUSIVENESS OF CAMPAIGN COUNCIL LIST
~ Congratulates members for making it into the final list
~ Solicits for peace, harmony and good conscience among members of the party
~ Welcomes coalition of parties, political groups, calls for unity of action.
The chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party in Imo State, Engr Charles Ugwu has commended the comprehensive campaign council list that captured every interest, and appealed to all aggrieved persons and groups to join hands to secure the state from the grip of bad governance.
While inaugurating the campaign council for the November 11, 2023 gubernatorial election led by Hon Ikenga Imo Ugochinyere Ikeagwuonu as Director General, the party chairman maintained that the inclusiveness of the list is an indication that the party’s candidates are out and ready to win election.
The event was well attended by the leadership of the various organs of the party, including groups and political affiliates working in synergy to win the coveted governorship election. Some of the groups led by their leaders include; the Rescue Mission group of Senator Rochas Okorocha, Destiny Organization of Senator Ifeanyi Araraume, Grassroot Organisation and the CICO group of Captain Emmanuel Iheanacho, among others. They all in unison pledged to work assiduously in realizing the journey to Douglas House.
The chairman on behalf of the leadership and members of the party congratulated the party and affiliate group members whose names made the final list of the body. He therefore charged them to remain faithful and pursue their tasks with due diligence and purpose, reminding them that the task before them is a collective project of Imo people.
Engr. Charles Ugwu most respectfully congratulated the Director General of the council, the Rt Hon Ikenga Imo Ugochinyere Ikegwuonu, member representing Ideato North and South in the National Assembly and his crew of Secretary and Deputy Director Generals; Hon Chief Marshal Okaforanyanwu, Rt Hon Ugonna Ozuruigbo, Hon Ngozi Ogbu and Hon Mike Ihenaetu. He wished them success in the herculean task of making Imo safe again by ensuring the successful delivery of Douglas House to the PDP standard bearer, Distinguished Senator Samuel Nnaemeka Anyanwu and the lmo people.
He also wished members of the party well and solicited their unalloyed support to the party and most importantly, to the project of winning the election on November 11. He did not forget to pray for the spirit of forgiveness among members in any way, as human. “Together in spirit and body, we shall win and join in celebrating the inauguration of a PDP government in the state come January 15, 2024.”
Finally, the State chairman heartily welcomed the conglomeration of groups and affiliates with the party in the onerous but divine task of liberating the state from the shackles of insecurity and bad governance. He fervently prayed for unity of purpose in making Imo safe and a hub for business and leisure in the southern clime again. He therefore urged them to remain resolute and committed to the course and goal of the project, no matter the machinations of the opposing forces.
