Yesterday, the Responsive Missionary Parliamentarian-MP of Ndi Orlu Zone and 2023 Imo State PDP Candidate for Imo West Senatorial District (Orlu Zone) Rt. Hon. Jones Onyereri Ph.D, was in Ohaji/Egbema LGA on a first hand information on the state of the environment as has been submerged by flood thereby rendering hundreds of sons and daughters of Ohaji/Egbema homeless at the moment.
The Olile Anya Ndi Orlu Zone Campaign Organization was ably led to the scenes by Hon. Henry Aguguo and other stakeholder of the Jones Senatorial Campaign Organization of the LGA.
On arrival, Dr. Jones and his Entourage were received by the Traditional ruler of Abacheke Ancent kingdom, His Royal Majesty, EZE BARR. GOH ARIAGA, the Nzeobi of Egbema Ancient kingdom and his people of Egbema as well as victims of the flood menace.
While briefing the gentlemen of the Press at the scenes, especially, the Arise TV, Channels, AIT, LT TV, GISTHUB24 Tv, Starfox360 crews amongst others, Dr. Jones called on the State government, federal government and all the Intervention agencies such as NEMA, NDDC, ISOPADEC and the oil companies operating in Ohaji/Egbema to come to the aid of the victims of this natural Disaster.
The incoming Senator, described Flood as a Natural disaster but could be controlled and managed through precautionary measures before it’s occurrence especially in areas that are known and prone to flooding. It’s important that the Government must take responsibility of providing us with proactive measures to mitigate future occurrence.
Dr. Jones, doled out sum funds to some of the victims in order to assist in the provision of foods as famine is one of the challenges associated with flooding as it causes food insecurity thereby leading to malnutrition.
The Traditional ruler and the victims thanked Dr. Jones and his team in a special way for coming to be with them and assist them financially and prayed God to continue to bless Dr. Jones and great him victory come 2023.
