The immediate governor of Imo State, His Excellency Rt. Hon. Emeka Ihedioha has accused his successor of sponsoring malicious blackmail aimed at defaming his character against him. The former governor stated this in an unusually blunt statement he personally wrote in reaction to series of what he described as ” orchestrated campaign of lies” which is allegedly being done at “the behest of the same man who was imposed on Imo State”.
Uzodimma & Ihedioha
He explained that his decision to stay silent amidst unwarranted provocations from agents of the Imo State governor was a conscious decision taken in order not to “inflame passion in the State.” However, following unrelenting attacks on his person, including criminal impersonation and forgery of his signatures and official documents, the former Deputy Speaker of the Nigerian House of Representatives has broken his silence, vowing to get to the roots of the matter.
He accused the Imo State governor of fruitlessly trying to drive a wedge between him and Imo people, in an apparent frustration with his (Uzodimma’s) rejection by Imo people and compared the governor with social media miscreants who; “forged documents, concocted voice messages, perjured and maximised the social media in throwing mud” at him.
He flatly denied writing any letter to the Attorney-General of the Federation over the court judgement freeing Nnamdi Kanu, saying that if there is anyone who would be afraid of a free Nnamdi Kanu, that person is Hope Uzodimma.
He concluded by urging security agencies to investigate Uzodimma’s agents whom he accuses of being behind the “blatant forgeries” and ensure that they are brought to justice.
